Everett Leo Dade, 86, the son of William Henry (Hal) and Nellie May (Teetor) Dade, was born Oct. 21, 1928, in Speedwell Township, St. Clair County, Mo., and passed from this life Saturday, Jan. 3, 2015, at Beautiful Savior Lutheran Home, in Belton, Mo.

Everett attended the one-room Ruark school near the Pape/Tiffin area then graduated with the Schell City High School Class of 1946. He served our country with a two year military commitment with the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. While in the Army he issued General Eisenhower his uniform. On Jan. 1, 1948, he was united in marriage to Marcella Marlys Bauer and the newlyweds initially made their home in Kansas City, Mo. A short time later they bought a home in Independence, Mo., and lived there for 30 years. Their union was blessed with two sons and one daughter. Throughout his working life, Everett was employed for 43 years for Sears and Roebuck, Co., serving in many capacities from maintenance to order facilitator. He also held a part-time position as a stocker for Milgrams. He always took time to attend campouts with the boys in Boy Scouts. He and Marcella acquired land and a home in the Schell City area where they ran cattle along with a small row crop operation. By that time they had also relocated to a home in Harrisonville, where they resided for 20 years. They spent time traveling between homes and always enjoyed their time on the farm, especially time spent checking the cattle together.

Everett was an excellent provider for his family and worked many hours throughout his life -- he was always happiest working and staying busy. He looked forward to getting together with the family and enjoyed family dinners.

Survivors include his children, Larry Dade and Janet, of Kansas City, Mo., Roger Dade and Marcia, of Harwood, Mo., and Marlys Gerhart and Forrest, of Blue Springs, Mo.; eight grandchildren, Beth and Wayne Hess, Kara and Matt Bruner, Laura and Craig Kackley, Andrea and Randall Henry, Roger Jr. and Jenny Dade, Jenna Dade, Megan and David Scott, and Chasten Gerhart; 14 great-grandchildren; and nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Everett was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Chester, Charles, and Richard; sisters, Aldene, Irene, and Louise; and his beloved wife, Marcella, who passed away Sept. 30, 2012. He will be sadly missed, but lovingly remembered by family and friends. We know he is happily reunited with his wife.
