Anna Ruth (Williams) Farmer

Anna Ruth Farmer, 84, of Nevada, Mo., passed from this life, Tuesday, Jan. 20, 2015, at Nevada Nursing and Rehab, in Nevada. She was born Aug. 17, 1930, in El Dorado Springs, the daughter of Loyd Clayton and Helen Ruth (Starr) Farmer. On May 29, 1948, she was united in marriage to Dennis Edmond Farmer, in Butler, Mo., and he preceded her in death on Dec. 3, 1995. Their union was blessed with two sons.

At the age of six, Anna, along with her family, moved to Nevada where she lived most of the rest of her life. Following Anna's school years she began employment as a machine operator for what was eventually J.H. Collectibles. She worked there for 37 years, retiring in 1994. She attended the Church of the Nazarene. In her spare time she enjoyed fishing and bowling, and was an avid card player at the Senior Center.

Survivors include her two sons, Ronald Farmer and Rhonda and Donald Farmer and Carol, all of Nevada; a sister, Mary Johnson and Tom, of Hollister; grandchildren, Kimberly Vandiver and Mark, of St. Louis, Ronald Jr. and Alicia, of Bella Vista, Ark., Abbey Lamb and Joshua, of Sheldon, Joshua Farmer of Kansas City, Solomon Farmer of Springfield, Lynsay Farmer of Nevada, Kelly Quackenbush of Kansas City, Beth Quackenbush also of Kansas City, and Barbara Wilson and Joe of Joplin; 10 great-grandchildren; and nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Anna was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Ernest Eugene "Gene" Williams.

Funeral services for Anna Ruth Farmer are scheduled at 10:30 a.m., Friday, Jan. 23, at Ferry Funeral Home, in Nevada. Interment will follow in Newton Burial Park, Nevada. Friends may call after 1 p.m., Wednesday, at Ferry Funeral Home.
