Nevada Council to consider trailer lease

The Nevada City Council will be considering bids for two large water valves that feed the 3M facility and are in need of replacement. Other bids under consideration are for defibrillators for city buildings and for five new police cars when it meets at 7 p.m., Tuesday, in the council chambers at the Public Safety Building, 120 S. Ash St.

Other items under consideration include a water loss report from city treasurer Kristie Modlin; the second reading of a proposed ordinance declaring an exceptional circumstance and authorizing hiring an environmental engineer.

The council will also be holding the first reading of a proposed ordinance to lease a 30-foot gooseneck trailer to Young Iron and Metal for metal recycling purposes; and the first reading of a proposed ordinance approving a usage agreement with the Western Missouri 9-1-1 Dispatch Center for 9-1-1 and dispatch services.

The council will also be considering a resolution approving a liquor-by-the-drink license for intoxicating liquor in excess of 5 percent of alcohol by weight to Sharky's Pub and Grub II.
