Dory Doyle Craig, 88, of Spring Hill, Kan., passed away at his home on Jan. 31, 2015. Dory was born July 14, 1926, in Foster, Mo., to Addah Belle (Dory) and George Bingham Craig. He grew up in Crawford County, Kan., and lived in Little Rock, Ark.

He completed Bailey Diesel School and his apprenticeship in St. Louis, Mo. Dory served in the U.S. from Navy 1944-1946, during World War II. Dory married Bonnie Lee Layher on Dec. 25, 1947, in Nevada. He was an electrician for Missouri Pacific Railroad for 13 years. They moved to Lenexa and his next position was with Bendix Corp (Honeywell) for 27 and 1/2 years. He retired in 1988 to Greers Ferry, Ark. They moved to Spring Hill in 2002 to be with family.

He was a member of the IBEW since 1949, and the Paola VFW. Dory enjoyed working on gas engines and tractors. He loved to spend time fishing. Dory will be dearly missed.

He was preceded in death by Bonnie, his wife of 66 years, in 2014; his parents; sister, Irene; and brothers, Jupe and Roger. Dory is survived by children, Mark D. Craig and wife, Cindy, of Olathe, Steve B. Craig and wife, Sue, of Spring Hill, and Cris M. Craig Wood and husband, Duane, of Olathe; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and brothers, Larry Craig of Independence, Mo., Bill Craig of Stover, Mo., and Dick Craig of Illinois.

Visitation with military honors will be from 10 to 11 a.m., Friday, Feb. 6, at Bruce Funeral Home, Gardner, Kan.

Graveside services will be at 2 p.m., Friday, at Newton Burial Park, Nevada.
