NHS freshmen best Bolivar

BOLIVAR ---- The Nevada Tigers freshmen basketball team picked up their ninth victory of the season Jan. 27, topping Bolivar 49-32.

The Tigers led 10-4 after the first quarter, and took a 17-12 lead at the half. Point guard Daulton Shepard led the Tigers with 10 first half points, including two second quarter 3-pointers.

Forwards Braeden Hinton and Hunter Mason paced Nevada in the third quarter, scoring four points apiece. Nevada led 30-20 heading into the fourth quarter.

The Tigers picked up the offensive pace in the fourth quarter, outscoring Bolivar 19-12, pulling away for the 17 point win.

For the Tigers, Shepard scored a game-high 16 points, followed by Hinton and Mason, who each finished with 11. Rounding out the scoring for Nevada, forward Zach Gardner added nine, and Braxton Shadden two.
