Johnathan Douglas Carter, 20, of Nevada, Mo., passed from this life Monday, Feb. 23, 2015, at KU Medical Center, in Kansas City, Kan., from complications of Type I Diabetes, a disease from which he suffered since the age of 15 months. He was born Feb. 18, 1995, in Kansas City, Mo., the son of Bryan Douglas Rouse and Sheryl Marie Isgar.

Johnathan attended school in the Kansas City area before moving to Nevada approximately 10 years ago. It was about that time that his mother married Ricky Joe Carter and adopted Johnathan to be his own. After the move, Johnathan attended Nevada R-5 and later worked for a short time at Buzz's. He also did volunteer work at the local Farmer's Market and Food Pantry. He enjoyed video games and was an avid fisherman.

Survivors include his parents, Sheryl and Ricky Carter, of the home in Nevada; sisters, Tabitha Marie Carter and Jaimie Lynn Rouse; two stepsiblings; grandparents, Connie and Don Records, of Windsor, and Russell Sr. and Sharon Rouse; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and many friends. Johnathan was preceded in death by his biological father; and grandparents, Lewis Sr. and Jolene Carter and Robert Isgar.

A memorial service for Johnathan Douglas Carter is scheduled for 11 a.m., Thursday, Feb. 26, at Ferry Funeral Home, in Nevada, with the Rev. Chad Bailey officiating. Friends may call now and until the hour of service at Ferry Funeral Home.
