Council to finalize purchase of new police vehicles

The Nevada City Council will be finalizing its purchase of five new police vehicles when it considers its final approval of the bid and the lease/purchase agreement with U.S. Bancorp Government Leasing and Financing Inc., during its regular meeting tonight at 7 in the council chambers at the Public Safety Building, 120 S. Ash St.

The council will also be considering bids for chemicals at the Twin Lakes Sports Complex, as well as bids for stacking chairs and miscellaneous furniture for the new Police Department facility.

Other items on the agenda include: the first reading of a special ordinance approving a change order to the city's contract with Buildet LLC for the construction of a new sidewalk along North Spring Street from the high school campus to the area of Walton Park; bids for storm siren maintenance and a change order to the city's contract with RE Smith Construction Company, Joplin, adjusting the cost of the new fire station.

The council will also be completing action on several other items, including: the city's contract with APAC-Missouri Inc., of Springfield, for the 2015 transportation sales tax street improvements; an inter-fund loan to the parks fund from the special projects fund for the purchase of two new mowers and an ordinance amending the parks fund budget to account for the higher than budgeted cost for two mowers.
