Hold qualifies for NCAA track and field nationals

Nevada High School graduate Morgan Hold, who is now a sophomore at Missouri Southern State University, recently picked up All-MIAA Track and Field honors.

Competing in the pole vault at the MIAA Track and Field Indoor Championships over the weekend in Warrensburg, Hold vaulted to a height of 16 feet, 1 and 5/16 inches, earning him a second place finish.

Hold's final result placed him on the national list of qualified athletes to compete in the NCAA Division II Indoor Track and Field Championships, at the Birmingham Crossplex in Birmingham, Ala., March 13-14.

NHS highlights

In May of 2013 at the MSHSAA Class 3 State Track and Field Championships in Jefferson City ---- Hold, who had broken the NHS school pole vaulting record twice during his senior season, came up one jump short of a State Championship, finishing in second.
