During and after his years with the TV store David was also the owner of Hedges Homes where he was a very active homebuilder for many years. He was the developer and previous owner of Hedges Apartments. David also owned Town and Country Equities where he enjoyed investing in real-estate.

David enjoyed flying for more than 40 years, both with fixed wing planes and powered parachutes. During retirement David also enjoyed RV'ing with Florence and together they were able to travel to 48 states. He was a member of the First Baptist Church. Most of all David loved and enjoyed spending time with his family.

In addition to his wife, Florence, he is survived by two sons, Mark David Hedges and his wife, Denise, Nevada, and Jason Todd Hedges and his wife, Angela, Nevada; one daughter, Jill Ann Moyaerts and her husband, Gert, Phoenix, Ariz.; seven grandchildren, Madison Hedges, Rylan Hedges, Reese Hedges, Isaac Hedges, Brynley Hedges, Connor Moyaerts, and Luke Moyaerts; one brother, Robert Hedges, Milo; one sister, Martha Maness, Nevada; and several nieces and nephews.
