The El Dorado Springs third and fourth-grade boys basketball team took three out of four games at the Lakeland Youth Basketball Invitational, March 13-14, wrapping up their season with an exciting third-place finish.

El Dorado Springs High School senior Richard Lyness, founded the team a year ago, and also serves as the head coach. Lyness was assisted by EHS sophomore Shane Trowbridge, parents Kevin and Brandi McCullough, and Nathan Murry.

"It has been a fun learning experience for the coaches and boys alike," Lyness said.

Lyness added that he would like to thank all of the parents for their support and cooperation. Last year, parents split the cost of entry fees, while uniforms were borrowed.

"This year, the team was blessed by sponsorship from Kevin McCullough of Evans Drug, and Rusty Kephart of Kephart Bail Bonds," he said.

Both covered entry fees, while Kephart purchased team uniforms.
