Northeast Vernon County Knights southpaw Taylor Highfill tossed a no-hit gem Tuesday against the Bronaugh Wildcats, racking up 12 strikeouts in the 15-0, five inning victory at Bronaugh.

The Knights have now reeled off three straight victories, all coming on the road, as they defeated Ballard Wednesday night to improve to 3-2.

Highfill, an Under Armour All-American, utilized an overpowering fastball and sharp curveball in dominating the Bronaugh lineup.

NEVC head coach Brian Pommier said he was impressed with the performance, but had no idea Highfill recorded a no-hitter until after the game.

Highfill issued four walks, while the NEVC defense was charged with an infield error. Highfill was fortunate, as it easily could have been ruled a hit, off of the bat of Max Ellis. Highfill helped his own cause at the plate, going 2-for-4 with four RBIs and three runs scored.
