Iva Lorene Spillman, 90, Nevada, Mo., passed from this life on Saturday, May 2, 2015, at her home in Nevada. She was born on July 1, 1924, in Bates County, Mo., to Bennie and Iva Adams. She married her high school sweetheart Lloyd Lee Spillman on June 21, 1943, in Fort Scott, Kan., and had together they one son, Robert Lee Spillman. They shared 70 years together.

During World War II Lorene worked in an airplane factory in Kansas City, Mo., then as a secretary at Metz High School and finally as a receptionist at the Nevada City Hospital. She and Lloyd then retired to the Lake of the Ozarks until 2008, when they moved to Nevada. Lorene was a member of the Metz United Methodist Church.

Survivors include her sisters, Darlene (Adams) Burgess and Dorothy (Adams) Steuck; one granddaughter, Christina Spillman; daughter-in-law, Rose Mary Spillman; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Lloyd; a son, Robert; brothers, Edward, Donald, Clarence, Wilbert, Hershell, Kenneth and Bennie (Jr.); and sisters, Luella (Adams) Hirmi and Mildred (Adams) Morgan.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, May 6, at Ferry Funeral Home, Nevada, with Gary Kurtz officiating. A committal service will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery, Rich Hill, Mo. The family will receive friends from10 to 11 a.m., Wednesday, prior to the service at the funeral home.
