The Nevada City Council will be considering an emergency ordinance to hire a hospital financial consultant to provide advice on the Nevada Regional Medical Center's financial issues when it meets at 7 p.m., tonight in the council chambers at the Public Safety Building, 120 S. Ash St.

The council will also be voting on Resolution No. 1424 to authorize paying up to one-third of the cost of an election for a one-half cent sales tax to cover the cost of providing central dispatching for emergency services.

Other items under consideration are bids to rebuild pump No. 3 at lift station No. 2. This is part of the city's wastewater collection system; the first reading of an ordinance permitting the sale of wine at the farmers market; and the lease-purchase of a Ricoh copier.

The council will also be finalizing ordinances to pay part of the cost of Bushwhacker Days entertainment and the appointment of Stephanie Beason to the parks board to replace Amyl Bishop, whose term expires in June.
