Addie Victoria Hopkins Brown, 101, passed from this life on Sunday, June 14, 2015, at Good Shepherd Care Center, in Versailles, Mo. She was born on Sept. 30, 1913, in Cedar County, Mo., to Thomas L. Hopkins and Anna Phipps Hopkins. She married Daniel Webster Brown on Sept. 22, 1933, in Fort Scott, Kan., and he preceded her in death on Feb. 11, 1979.

Addie spent her early childhood in Cedar County. In 1923, she moved to the Vernon County/Nevada vicinity where she met Daniel. They resided near Deerfield, Mo., for several years where their daughter, Mary Ellen, was born on Oct. 9, 1934. In 1936, the family moved to Walker, Mo., where they spent their remaining years. Addie has resided in Versailles, Mo., since 2001 to be near her daughter.

Survivors include daughter, Mary Ellen Craig and husband, Bill, Stover, Mo.; grandchildren, Cassia Linda Craig and friend, Wyatt Earp, Bruce Craig, and Brook Craig; eight great-grandchildren, Jessica and Justin Brewer, Sacha and Ian Simpson, Brandi Goldberg, Wesley, Waylon and Amy Craig; niece, Carol Ann Houchens and her children, Sonnetha and Sonsuray; and step-granddaughter, Carrie. Aside from her parents and husband she was preceded in death by two brothers; one sister; and one granddaughter, Deborah Ellen Brewer and her husband, John.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., Friday, June 19, at Ferry Funeral Home, Nevada. Interment will follow in Mound Cemetery, Filley, Mo. Friends may call now until the hour of service and the family will receive friends from noon to 1 p.m., prior to the service.
