Cottey athletes earn academic recognition

NEVADA, MO -- According to a press release, the National Junior College Athletic Association has recognized four Cottey College athletes for their academic achievements.

Regan Kannady, a volleyball player from Nevada, received the superior academic achievement award for having a GPA between 3.8 and 3.99 on a 4.0 scale.

Kelsey Davidson, a volleyball player from Holden; Linsey Denney, a basketball player from Everton; and Madeline Lugenbeel, a volleyball player from Raytown; each received the exemplary academic achievement award for having a GPA between 3.6 and 3.79 on a 4.0 scale.

This season, close to 60,000 student-athletes competed in the NJCAA across 3,500 teams in 28 different sports.
