Howard Michael "Mike" Hubbard passed away on Tuesday, Sept. 1, 2015, at his home in Nevada, Mo.

Mike was born Aug. 9, 1955, to Kent Wayne Hubbard and Anita Louise (McMinn) Hubbard in San Diego, Calif. As a young child he moved to live with his paternal grandparents, Jim and Rena Hubbard, on their family farm in Cedar County. There he developed his passion for many things including collecting old bottles. Mike would spend many hours in old farm dump sites digging for his beloved bottles. He also enjoyed searching the fresh plowed fields for artifacts and accumulated a great collection of both.

Mike attended school in El Dorado Springs graduating in May 1974. Shortly after graduation Mike served his nation, joining the United States Army. He was stationed stateside at Ft. Campbell and overseas in Germany.

Returning to civilian life Mike again settled on the family farm. The farm was located just miles from Caplinger Mills where Mike loved to fish and shared the sport and time on the river with friends.

On Dec. 26, 1984, Mike married Denise Johnson. To this union two children were born, Kristina Michelle and Christopher Michael.

In 1993, Mike suffered a health crisis, necessitating his move off of the family farm to Nevada, where he lived until his passing. Mike worked in the food industry sharing his love for cooking in both the restaurant and senior care facility settings.

Mike was preceded in death by his parents, Kent Wayne Hubbard and Anita Louise Loose; paternal grandparents, Harold Lloyd Hubbard and Rena Irene Hubbard; and maternal grandparents, Groves Kyle McMinn and Ruby Olivia McMinn. He is survived by his children, Michelle Hubbard, of Lincoln, Mo., and Christopher Hubbard, of Shell City, Mo.; a brother, Billy Page of Omaha, Neb.; two sisters, Kathy Baker, of Nevada, Mo., and Georgiana Turner, of Bolivar, Mo.; five grandchildren; and five nieces and nephews and many friends.

Following cremation a private family service will be held.
