Noreta Pearl Kemper

Noreta Pearl Kemper, 78, Nevada, Mo., passed away on Friday, Sept. 4, 2015, at Nevada Regional Medical Center. She was born on Aug. 26, 1937, in Alva, Okla., to Clarence Calvin and Eloise Eva (Vincent) Bittner. She married Robert Lynn Kemper on Dec. 24, 1967, at the Calvary Baptist Church, in Nevada, and he preceded her in death on Nov. 24, 2002.

Noreta moved to Nevada in the early 1950s and graduated from Nevada High School Class of 1955. She worked at her family's Eatwell Café and was a receptionist for Dr. Ben Mendenhall for 10 years. After their marriage, Noreta and Robert operated Nevada Merchants Delivery which later became Nevada Moving and Storage where she worked alongside her husband. They were also active in the Calvary Baptist Church and served in the Bus Ministry for many years. She was a current member of the Pine Street Baptist Church.

She had a passion for caregiving and in her later years took care of her mother and husband in her home while they were in declining health. Although she had no biological grandchildren she loved and doted on Brinklee, Brylan and Lexxi who knew her as "Grammi."

Preceding her in death were her parents and husband; two brothers, Calvin J. and Melvin L. Bittner; and a niece, Velynda Jones. She is survived by a daughter, Julie A. Kemper, of the home; one sister, Linda J. LaDue, Nevada; two sisters-in-law, Virginia M. Bittner, Oklahoma City, Okla., and Janet A. Koch, Olathe, Kan.; three nieces, Sheri L. Davis, Nevada, Janet E. (Vance) Brown, Edmond, Okla., and Debbie (Mark) Conner, Hillsboro, Kan.; three nephews, Steven W. (Lori) LaDue, Springfield, Mo., James "Gary" Bittner, Oklahoma City, Okla., and David (Ava) Kemper, Los Lunas, N.M.; and a host of extended family.

Funeral service will be at 11 a.m., Thursday, Sept. 10, at Ferry Funeral Home, Nevada, with the Rev. Terry Mosher officiating. Interment will follow at Moore Cemetery, Nevada. Friends may call until the hour of service. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 9, at the funeral home.
