DeVon E. Shearburn

DeVon E. Shearburn, 86, of El Dorado, Kan., passed away Sept. 9, 2015, in Wichita, Kan. DeVon was born Nov. 5, 1928, in Bronaugh, Mo., the son of Melvin and Lee Earl Thompson Shearburn. He graduated from Bronaugh High School in 1946. He was united in marriage to the former Pearl Dale in March 1955, in El Dorado, Kan.

DeVon served in the Army during the Korean War and worked at Boeing in Wichita, Kan., for 35 years as a machinist.

DeVon is survived by his wife, Pearl, of the home; sons, Bradley and Stephen Shearburn, both of El Dorado, and Tony (Becky) Shearburn, of Columbus, Kan.; grandchildren, Adam, Kirbie (Nolan), Zachary (Jami), Shanna (Andy), Tylor (Sheena), and Ashlee (Chase); nine great-grandchildren; and a sister, Karin Haverstic, of Moundville. He was preceded in death by a sister, Gayle Cooper; a brother, Gary Dean Shearburn; and daughter-in-law, Carol Jo Reed Shearburn.

Interment will be in Walnut Valley Memorial Park, El Dorado, Kan., under the direction of Carlson Colonial Chapel, of El Dorado, Kan.
