Dolores Laverne Grant

Dolores Laverne Grant, 84, Nevada, Mo., passed from this life on Wednesday, Nov. 4, 2015, at Nevada Nursing and Rehab, in Nevada. Dolores was born on June 7, 1931, in Chicago, Ill. She was united in marriage to Albert R. Grant and he preceded her in death on Dec. 16, 1981.

Dolores grew up in Chicago and for a time was a member of the Chicago Thunderbird Roller Derby Team. In 1977 she came to Nevada and had resided here since that time. Dolores began working for the Nevada R-5 schools as a bus driver and continued to drive for 20 years until her retirement. She enjoyed spending time with her dog and watching birds.

Survivors include two children, Leonard Grant and his wife, Loraine, Nevada, and Jackie Anders and her husband, Tim, Nevada; four grandchildren, Levi Grant, Daniel Anders, Casey Anders, and Randall Kisner; and one great-grandson, Kyrun Anders.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 7, at Ferry Funeral Home, in Nevada. Interment will follow in Olive Branch Cemetery, Milo, Mo. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m., Friday, at the funeral home.
