Sheldon splits with TJ

Sheldon earned a split with Thomas Jefferson Thursday, with the girls pulling out a 33-27 decision, while the boys fell in the finale, 71-29.

The Panthers opened a 10-4 lead in the girls' game, and led at half 16-11. The teams swapped points most of the second half, with the third quarter break at 24-19.

Logan Lamb collected 20 points for the winners. Alycia Baney added eight, and Kylie Leavell five.

In the boys' game, Sheldon fell behind early at 21-2 at the first break.

The Panthers did put in 12 points in the second quarter but Thomas Jefferson poured in 27 for a 48-14 halftime difference. A 19-10 margin in the third provided a 67-24 gap.

Kaleb Martin connected for 10, Alex Hibbitts and Matt Bogart five, and Zavery Lamb, Brett O'Connor and Jason Leavell three.
