Mary Joan Clark (Johnson) Ackerman

Mary Joan Clark (Johnson) Ackerman was born April 15, 1930. She went to heaven on Feb. 8, 2016. Joan was preceded in death by her parents Carl and Eva Sue Clark, of Bronaugh, Mo. She was a Christian woman with a strong faith in God. She was very active in Women's Federation Clubs and church. Joan sold real estate for many years at Jones & Company in Springfield, Mo., before relocating to Perry, Okla., where she continued her real estate career. She was very active in the Realtor's Association in which she served as president for many years. After retiring, she and her husband Jerry relocated to Spring, Texas.

Joan loved her family and especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed playing the piano and singing in the choir at church. She loved KU Jayhawks basketball, Democrats, and boating on Table Rock Lake.

She is survived by her husband, Jerry Ackerman, of Spring, Texas; her children, Suzanne Lucas of Gainsville, Fla., Stan Johnson of Ozark, Mo., and Steve Johnson and his wife, Jamie, of West Melbourne, Fla.; stepson, William Ackerman of Conroe, Texas; brother, Jack Clark and his wife, Betty Jo, of Henderson, Nev.; grandchildren, Justin Lucas of Palm Beach Gardens, Fla., Jennifer Mullins and her husband, Mark of Pflugerville, Texas, Tyler Johnson of Springfield, Mo., Courtney Johnson of Springfield, Mo., Krystal Vance and husband, Scott, of Melbourne, Fla., Amara Marcoccia and husband, Mike, of Melbourne, Fla., Brianna Thrush and her husband, Greg, of Melbourne, Fla., Brian Cosmillo of Melbourne, Fla., Jarod Ackerman and his wife, Allison, of Tampa, Fla., and Audra Ackerman of The Woodlands, Texas; 16 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

She will be missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing and loving her. May God rest her soul.

Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m., Monday, Feb. 15, at the Klein United Methodist Church, in Klein, Texas, and also at the United Methodist Church, in Bronaugh, Mo., at a later date.
