Tiger tennis team falls at Carl Junction

The Nevada Tigers tennis team fell to Carl Junction 6-3 Thursday at Carl Junction.

In No. 1 singles play for Nevada, Nathan McCall fell to Carl Junction's Benjamin Byrd 8-1. At No. 2, Nevada's Jordan Sheehy defeated Drew Irwin 8-4. Nevada's No. 3, sophomore Jace Lanham, was beat 8-3 by Joe Wolf.

At No. 4 for Nevada, junior Matt Sommer bested Brett Boline 8-6. Sommer is now 4-0 on the season. Nevada's No. 5 Sheel Patel, was upended by Tanner Ross, 8-2. And at No. 6, Vasantgiri Goswami fell to Carl Junction's Karson Eberhart 8-4.

Doubles-matches

Nevada's top duo of McCall and Lanham were toppled by Byrd and Irwin, 8-1. Nevada's No. 2 pairing, Sheehy and Sommer, bounced Wolf and Eberhart 8-2. At No. 3, Nevada's tandem of Patel and Goswami were derailed by Boline and Ross 8-3.
