Deborah Kaye Wadel, 64, Richards, Mo., passed away on Monday, June 13, 2016, at Moore-Few Care Center, after a lengthy illness. She was born in LaJunta, Colo., June 28, 1951, to Bob Venter and Nettie Venter (Phillips). She married Ron Wadel on Nov. 14, 1975, and just recently celebrated 40 wonderful years together. She is survived by her loving husband, Ron, of the home; son, Sandy McDonald, Fort Scott, Kan.; daughter, Kimberly Ross, Weir, Kan.; daughter, Sara Carlin, Nevada, Mo.; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; sister, Sherri Baggett, Nevada, Mo.; sister, Joyce Brown, Belton, Mo.; brother, Kevin Reeves, Nevada, Mo.; sister, Dottie Pulliam, Mapleton, Kan.; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Micheline Morton, Overland Park, Kan.

Debi retired from Nevada Regional Medical Clinic in 2012. She was very proud of her family. She loved being outdoors, camping and canoeing, working in her flower and water gardens, and bird watching. She also enjoyed astronomy and was a member of the ASKC astronomy club. Debi also enjoyed watching the Kansas City Royals and Kansas City Chiefs games. She attended and was a member of the First Christian Church in Nevada. She will be dearly missed by her friends and family.

Visitation will be Wednesday, June 15, from 6 to 8 p.m., at Ferry Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at the First Christian Church Thursday, June 16, time is yet to be determined.
