Linda Mae (Scott) Williams

Linda Mae Williams, 71, was born July 19, 1944, to Adam and Virginia Scott at home in the Dove Community, in Laclede County, Mo.

She attended her first five grades in the one-room Merchant schoolhouse. Her mother passed in November 1950, and her father was left to care for her and her sister, Nancy. They moved to Nevada, Mo., in 1955 where she graduated from Nevada High School in 1962. She is a 1984 graduate of the University of Northern Colorado with a bachelor's of science in gerontology and coursework to a master's of science in rehabilitation counseling.

She married Norman Williams of Fort Scott, Kan., in August 1970, whom she was divorced from in 1977. Her father passed in March 1994. She was married to Robert Brunton in August 2013.

She was preceded in death by an infant brother, Alan Lyle Scott, who passed before she was born. Linda passed away May 16, 2016, after a diagnosis of brain cancer the previous March. She is survived by her husband, Robert Brunton of Denver, Colo.; her two sons, Scott Williams and his wife, Carri Ann, and their two daughters, Bethany and Rachel, of Aurora, Colo., and Jeffrey Williams and his wife, Jannalee, and their two sons, Alan and Tristan, of Corpus Christi, Texas. She is also survived by her sister, Nancy Khare and her husband, Brij, of Boca Raton, Fla., and their daughter, Vindhya Khare and her husband, Peter Ludescher, of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.
