Donald James (Jim) Brown and Elizabeth (Beth) Woodruff -- 70 years

Donald James (Jim) Brown and Elizabeth (Beth) Woodruff were married Aug. 24, 1946, in the Courthouse at Fort Scott, Kan., by the Probate Judge.

Their attendants were Gerald Moore and Twila Hendricks.

Later that fall the couple made a trip to San Bernardino, Calif., and on to Portland, Ore., in a 1939 Willys at 40 miles per hour.

Jim and Beth are the parents of Donald James Brown Jr. and Betty Sue Brown Thorpe.

They have seven grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.

They have lived in the Nevada area all of their 70 years of marriage.
