Walker Fire Department responds to house fire

Walker Fire Department responded to a house on fire on HH highway, three miles south of Highway 54 Sunday evening.

According to fire chief Russell Hays, the entire house was on fire when the first fire department units arrived. The house was occupied but no one was home at the time of the fire.

Hays said the house was a total loss, a shed on the property was destroyed and a second shed was damaged.

Investigators from the Missouri State Fire Marshall's office were unable to determine a cause due to the severity of the fire.

Walker Fire Department responded with four apparatus and nine firefighters. El Dorado Springs Fire Department assisted in extinguishing the fire.
