NHS boys swim team nets first place at Seymour Invitational

A strong start to the season continued for the Nevada High School boys swim team, as they captured first-place at Tuesday's Seymour High School Invitational.

Nevada tallied 355 team points while West Plains placed second with 277. Camdenton and Logan-Rogersville finished in a third-place tie with 241 points apiece. Liberty High-Mountain View took fifth with 167 points, while host-Seymour settled for sixth, with 54 points.

* The 200-yard Medley Relay team of Thomas Prewitt, Jake Asberry, Grant Miller, and Cody Hansen placed first, setting their best time of the season at 1:53.41.

* In the 200-yard Individual Medley, Tyler Armstrong placed third with a time of 2:40.62, while Miller took fourth with a time of 2:40.75.

* In the 50-yard Free, Asberry zoomed to a first place finish, clocking a time of 23.29; Prewitt placed second with a time of 23.64; and Hansen finished in fifth at 25.66.

* Asberry also placed first in the 100-yard Butterfly with a time of 56.07.

* In the 100-yard Free, Prewitt notched first place with a time of 55.21, while Hansen placed fifth with a time of 59.40.

* In the 200-yard Free Relay, the team of Michael Henderson, Kalen Morris, Armstrong, and Russell placed third with a time of 1:43.78.

* In the 100-yard Backstroke, Russell placed second at 1:14.89.

* In the 100-yard Breaststroke, Miller's time of 1:20.05 was good for third place.

* In the 400-yard Free Relay, the team of Prewitt, Miller, Hansen, and Asberry captured gold with a time of 3:51.70.
