NHS cross country competes in Springfield

A number of high finishes were recorded by Nevada Tiger and Lady Tigers cross country runners at Springfield Catholic's Irish Invitational held at Springfield Underground.

For the varsity Lady Tigers, freshman Calli Beshore finished in second place in the 5-kilometer run; Patience Lockhart, 15th;Virginia Haverstic, 26th; Amara Pippin, 32nd; Heaven Farmer, 40th;Haleigh Leisure, 71st; and Courtney Leeker, 88th.

For the NHS varsity boys Luke Sudkamp placed 52nd place; Noah LaNear, 81st; Trent Ellis, 83rd; Bronson Smith, 85th; Devin McHugh, 108th; Jayden Ast, 112th; and Braden Ast, 114th.

Nevada Middle School cross country runners will conclude its season Saturday morning at the Tri-County Cross Country Meet, hosted by Joplin South Middle School.
