Lady Tigers win WCC Cross Country championship
On an unseasonably warm day Monday in Warrensburg, the Nevada Lady Tigers cross country team blazed to a first place finish at the West Central Conference meet.
Leading the way for the Lady Tigers was freshman Calli Beshore, who won the girls 5-kilometer event en route to an individual championship.
Additionally for Nevada, Patience Lockhart netted a fourth-place finish; Virginia Haverstic, seventh-place; Heaven Farmer, 14th; Amara Pippin, 21st; and Haleigh Leisure 37th.
"We ran very well and worked hard against very tough competition," first-year NHS cross country coach Ryan Watts said.
The Nevada Tiger varsity boys team concluded the WCC meet with a sixth-place finish. For Nevada, Luke Sudcamp placed 24th; Bronson Smith, 26th; Jaden Ast, 27th; Noah LaNear, 39th; Trent Ellis, 40th; Devin McHugh, 42nd; and Ben Sudcamp, 46th.

Making the championship even sweeter, Beshore, Lockhart, Haverstic and Farmer garnered All-West Central Conference accolades.
