Robert Lee "Bob" Hacker

Robert Lee "Bob" Hacker, passed away on Nov. 21, at Mercy Hospital in Joplin. He was born June 27, 1930, in Nevada to Howard and Angie "Palmer" Hacker. He was married to Carol Ann Thomas on Oct. 15, 1965, in Nevada and she survives of the home.

A lifelong resident of Vernon County, he graduated from Walker High School in 1948. He served in the United States Army from 1952-1954. He was a longtime employee of the Nevada Daily Mail. Bob worked at Fram at the time of his retirement of 1995. He was a member of the Nevada United Methodist Church. He was also a member of the Nevada BPOE Elks Lodge #564 since 1959.

Survivors include his wife Carol of the home; one son, Robert Thomas; four grandchildren, Jake Claassen, Robert Michael, Austin David, and Kendra Elise of Raymore, Mo.; one brother, Dick Hacker and his wife Sandy, Nevada; three sisters-in-law, Sharon Hacker, Rita Hacker, and Marge Hacker; one brother-in-law, Cliff McDaniel; many nieces, nephews and a host of friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Sue McDaniel, and Bonnie McDaniel; three brothers, Tom Hacker, Jim Hacker, and Bill Hacker.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 26, at Ferry Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m.at the funeral home.

The family requests no flowers. Memorials may be given to the Nevada United Methodist Church at P.O. Box 488, Nevada, MO, 64772 or in care of Ferry Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Dederick.
