Benjamin Delgado, Jr., 61, departed this life on Tuesday, Dec. 13, at his home in Nevada following a lengthy illness. Benjamin was born in Chicago, Ill., on May 23, 1955, to Benjamin and Rosalee (Stout) Delgado.

Benjamin was raised in Chicago and attended school there. Following high school he served in the United States Army and was stationed in Vietnam. He later moved to Branson, and started a family. While in Branson, Benjamin owned and operated a motel and the Old Tyme Photos store. In 2003 he came to Nevada to be near his family. He enjoyed fishing, watching wrestling, UFC fighting, and going to the casinos. But he especially loved the time he spent with his family.

Survivors include three children, Neena Woodcook (Roger), Nevada, Ben Delgado III, (Amanda) Nevada, Landon Delgado, Nevada; grandchildren, Keirstan Delgado, Heavenly Woodcook; siblings, Carmen Becker, Texas, Michelle Daniels, Springfield, Mo., Joe Delgado, Branson; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins; and of special mention, Kimberly Delgado. He was preceded in death by his parents and one step-brother, Jim Stout.

Friends may gather at 11 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 16, at Ferry Funeral Home in Nevada for a time of remembering. Graveside services will follow at 12:30 p.m. in the Fort Scott National Cemetery, Fort Scott, Kan., with Bro. Landon Delgado officiating.
