Donald Malcolm Hancock, 84, Nevada, passed away on Sunday, Dec. 18, at his home in Nevada following a lengthy illness. Donald was born September 16, 1932, in Thayer, Mo., to Herald Vivian and Elsie U. (Coose) Hancock. He was united in marriage to Frances L. Adams on Oct. 13, 1950, in Kansas City, Mo., and she survives of the home.

Donald graduated from Southeast High School in Kansas City, Mo. He worked for Sheffield Steel in Kansas City, Mo., for a time before going to work for Cartwright Moving and Storage in Grandview, Mo. In 1965 Donald and Frances came to Nevada where he continued to work in the moving and storage business until his retirement in 1992. Donald enjoyed hunting, fishing, nature watching, and being with his grandchildren.

In addition to his wife Frances, survivors include three daughters, Janet Mathis and her husband Matt, Blue Springs, Mo., Joyce Spratt and her husband Cris, Milo, Debbie Nickerson and her husband James, Milo; two sons, Donald Lee Hancock and his wife Crystal, Walker, Dennis R. Hancock and his wife Patricia, Nevada; 19 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; one brother, Bill Hancock and his wife Evelyn, Organ, N.M.; numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one son, Michael B. Hancock, Sr.; his parents; two brothers, Norman Bruce, and Robert Hancock.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 22, at Ferry Funeral Home in Nevada with Elder Gary Hancock officiating. Interment will follow in Marvin Chapel Cemetery, Milo. The family will receive friends from 1-2 p.m. prior to the service. Friends may call from now and until the hour of service at Ferry Funeral Home.
