Evelyn (Kirchner) Berg, 94, Fairbury, Neb., formerly of Nevada, passed from this life on Feb. 3, at Gardenside Nursing Home in Fairbury, Neb. Evelyn was born March 27, 1922, in Cumberland, Iowa, to Edwin and Amanda May (Martin) Kirchner.

Evelyn came to Nevada in 1992 and resided here until 2016 when she moved to Nebraska to be closer to her family. She attended the Pine Street Baptist Church in Nevada. Evelyn enjoyed playing cards with friends and family, traveling, gardening, and embroidering. She was a member of the Moose Lodge, VFW, American Legion, Eagles and attended the Nevada Senior Center.

Survivors include one daughter, Viola Johnson, Fairbury, Neb.; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and step-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one daughter, Peggy Wagner; two sons, Larry Eblen, and Steve Eblen; one granddaughter, Patricia Stirewalt; one grandson, Bruce Johnson; and one great-grandson, Michael Lockwood.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 10, at the United Church of Christ in Atlantic, Iowa, with Pastor Nancy Jenson officiating. Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery, Cumberland, Iowa. Friends may call from now until 7 p.m. on Thursday at Ferry Funeral Home, Nevada.
