Preparing for a busy day

Tuesday, February 14, 2017
Troy Alexander, owner of May's Floral and Gifts, works on an arrangement for a waiting customer. Alexander said they average 300-400 deliveries for Valentine's Day and conduct in one week the amount of business they normally do in one month. May's Floral and Gifts will sell more than 2,000 roses this year despite the increased price. Alexander said he had to order roses from Holland and Ecuador as heavy rains have damaged flower crops in California. For the husband who has procrastinated and not ordered roses yet, Alexander said there is still time to place an order as long as the supply of flowers lasts. Gabe Franklin/Daily Mail
