Ting Chen Yuan Ray

Ting Chen Yuan Ray, 90, Nevada, passed away on Tuesday, April 25, at her home in Nevada. Ting Chen Yuan was born Feb. 12, 1927, in Guizhou, China.

Ting Chen Yuan was raised by her mother, Zheng Shi, in China. She moved to Taiwan in 1949 with her husband Tai Tong Yuan and two sons. In Taiwan, another son and three daughters were born and lived on the island until 1982 when she moved to Los Angeles, Calif. In 1988 she came to Nevada and has continued to reside here. While living in Nevada she enjoyed working at her daughter, Kuan Kuan’s, restaurant “Quick Dine” on Osage Blvd. Ting Chen Yuan loved spicy food and enjoyed cooking Chinese food.

She is survived by her three sons, Shih Kuan Yuan, and his wife, Nancy, Las Vegas, Nev., Shih Jung Yuan, Taipei, Taiwan, Shih Wei Yuan, Taipei, Taiwan; her three daughters, Kuan Kuan Butterfield, Nevada, Heidi Hou, and her husband, Tony, El Dorado Springs, Lola Yuan, Taipei, Taiwan; her grandchildren, Hsiu Huei, Min Hui, Ya Hui, Ting Hui, Jenny, Judy, May Ling, Elsa, James, Jason, Justin, Ace; and her great-grandchildren, Ryan, Justin, Zetta, Jessica, Zedrick, Connaghan, Billy, Delainey, Jayden, Eliot and Declan. She was preceded in death by great-grandson, Wesley.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, April 28, at Ferry Funeral Home in Nevada with the family and the Rev. Hubert Fox officiating. Interment will follow in Moore Cemetery, Nevada. The family will receive friends from 9-10 a.m. on Friday prior to the service.
