Nevada Police have concluded an investigation into drug distribution following a search warrant that was executed in December 2016 at a residence in the 300 block of South Pine Street.

During the final months of 2016 officers had been conducting surveillance and gathering information from the neighborhood regarding suspected illegal drug activity at a residence in the 300 block of South Pine Street.

In the early morning hours of December 10, 2016 Nevada Police executed a search warrant at the suspect residence in an effort to locate illegal narcotics.

During the search officers seized multiple bags of suspected methamphetamine that were believed to have been prepared for distribution.

The seized narcotics were sent to the Missouri State Highway Patrol Crime Lab for analysis. In March 2017 Nevada Police were notified by the crime lab that the seized narcotics were confirmed as methamphetamine.

This evidence was presented to the Vernon County Courts and a warrant was issued for the suspect in the investigation.

On Wednesday Nevada Police arrested the suspect in this case identified as Anita Kasper, age 51 of Nevada. Kasper was taken to the Vernon County Jail and has been charged with possession of controlled substance with intent to distribute, a Class B felony. Kasper is being held in lieu of a $25,000 cash only bond.

Citizens are encouraged to contact the police if they have any information that would be helpful to combat crime.
