Walter “Jake” James Kenney

Walter “Jake” James Kenney, age 57, of Walker, was suddenly taken from us on June 3. Walt was born in Minnesota on April 18, 1960, to Oliver and Anne Kenney.

Walt’s pride and joy were his kids, grandkids and his motorcycle. He enjoyed scenic bike rides with his good friend Tommy and relaxing on the porch swing drinking tea, especially during thunderstorms.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Lyndy Kenney; mother, Anne Kenney; and brothers, David and Paul Kenney.

Walt is survived by his father, Oliver Kenney, of El Dorado Springs; children, Walter Kenney and wife, Kim, of Springfield, Mo., Matthew Kenney and wife, Megan, of Springfield, Mo., Jamie Christiensen and husband, Wade, of Gillette, Wyo., and Randi Knight and husband, Nathan of Springfield, Mo.; grandchildren, Cheyenne, Jaxson and Dominic Kenney and Linden Knight; siblings, James Kenney and wife, Phyllis, of Springfield, Mo., and Annette Tankersley and husband, Rawn, of Branson, Mo.; nieces and nephews, Heather Bryant and husband, Randy and family, K. Nigel Holderby and husband, Nigel and family, Bathsheba Cantrell and family, Taylor Tankersley and Jessica Tankersley; and girlfriend, Sonya, of Walker.

Walt also had many friends that loved him for his humor, friendship and kindness.

A memorial service was held June 10, at 2 p.m. at the Bland-Hackleman Funeral Home with the Rev. Terry Mosher officiating. Final disposition was cremation under the direction of Bland-Hackleman Funeral Home.
