Robert Gene Lawson, 59, Sheldon, passed away on Tuesday, June 20, at his home in Sheldon. Robert was born May 30, 1958, in Clinton, to Cleo and Diana (Bybee) Lawson.

Robert was raised in Clinton and attended school there. He was a member of The International Brotherhood of Boilermakers and Boilermakers Local No. 83 in Kansas City. Robert worked as a boilermaker for the past 17 years. His passions included spending time with his family, going to auctions and attending the local car races. He also enjoyed celebrating the Fourth of July with his family.

Survivors include one daughter, Audra Fleeman (Tony), Sheldon; one son, Joshua Robert (Ashley) Lawson, Nevada; step-children, Bobbie Baxter, Nevada, and Jerry Wheeler (Harley), Nevada; nine grandchildren, Treyton Fleeman, Derick Fleeman, Hayden Fleeman, Kyle Nelson, Skylar Beisley, Kipton Lawson, Kenten Baxter, Katerina Baxter and Jerry Wheeler Jr.; two brothers, Terry Lawson (Hazel), Blue Springs, Mo., John Watts, Nevada; one sister, Tina Groves (Junior), Nevada; numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and special friends.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, June 24, at Ferry Funeral Home in Nevada with Pastor Jerod Lamb officiating. Interment will follow in Moore Cemetery, Nevada. The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. on Friday evening at the funeral home.
