Linda Sue (Banes) Rohrs

Linda Sue (Banes) Rohrs, 59, Harrisonville, Mo., passed away on Wednesday, July 12, at Research Medical Center in Kansas City, Mo., following a lengthy battle with Amyloidosis. Sue was born Sept. 25, 1957, in Nevada, to Charles Eugene and Shirley Lea (Walker) Banes. She was united in marriage to Randy Rohrs on Sept. 3, 1977, in Nevada, and he survives of the home.

Sue grew up in Bronaugh and graduated from Bronaugh High School Class of 1975. During her years at Bronaugh H.S. Sue was a member of the three-time State Final Four Basketball Team including the State Championship Basketball Team of 1975. She then graduated from Draughon’s Business College in Springfield and for a time worked at the Nevada City Hospital. Following her marriage to Randy, they moved to Liberty, Mo., and she worked for American Title Company for 12 years. Later she and Randy owned and operated RSG Trucking and Mixer Services. Since 2005 Sue has worked at the Vision Center for the Veterans Administration in Kansas City. Sue enjoyed quilting and loved to make quilts for her grandchildren. She attended Pentecostal Assembly Church in Nevada.

In addition to her husband Randy, survivors include one daughter, Genea Stoffer and her husband, Travis, Harrisonville; two grandsons, Gene Wayne Stoffer and Mason (motormouth) Stoffer; her mother, Shirley Banes, Sheldon; one brother, Mike Banes and his wife, Kathy, Bronaugh; and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. She was preceded in death by her father, Gene Banes; and one sister, Teresa Banes.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, July 22, at Ferry Funeral Home in Nevada. Interment will follow in Sheldon Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Friday, July 21, at the funeral home.
