Wilma L. Burdick

Wilma L. Burdick, 82, of Nevada, passed away Friday, July 14, in Nevada. Wilma was born March 30, 1935, in Nevada, the daughter of Clarence and Stella (Hoover) Hoskins. She graduated from Nevada High School and married Billie Burdick on Dec. 29, 1952.

Wilma worked many years for Nevada Regional Hospital as a nurse’s aide. She enjoyed gardening, nurturing the hummingbirds at her home and watching NASCAR. She will be remembered by her family as being a devoted and caring wife, mother and grandmother who loved spending time with them.

Wilma was preceded in death by her husband, Billie; her parents; son, Randy; sister, Naomi Allen; and brothers, Clarence Hoskins Jr. and Robert Hoskins. She is survived by her children, Karen Pate (Jack) Nevada; Richard Burdick (Sandy) Nevada; Ron Burdick (Betty) Bronaugh; and Kathy Fleener (Terry) Bronaugh; 13 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; nieces; nephews; extended family and special friends.

Graveside Services will be at 10 a.m. on today at the Veteran’s National Cemetery in Ft. Scott. A visitation was held 5-7 p.m., on Monday in the Ferry Funeral Home Chapel.

Memorials are suggested to “Vernon County Cancer Relief” in care of Ferry Funeral Home.
