James Warren Hartman

James Warren Hartman, 54, Carterville, Mo., formerly of Nevada and Bronaugh, passed away on Saturday, July 29, at Mercy Hospital in Joplin. James was born March 25, 1963, in Lincoln, Neb., to James Wessley and Norma Mae (Crabtree) Hartman. He was united in marriage to Stephanie E. Curtis on June 11, 2016, in Nevada, and she survives of the home.

James was raised in the Bronaugh area and attended Bronaugh High School graduating with the class of 1981. Following high school, James worked for a number of years as an automobile mechanic. Later he operated his own D.J. and Karaoke business and also a computer business “The Other Computer Guy.” James recently moved to Carterville from Nevada in March of 2017.

In addition to his wife Stephanie, survivors include three children, Samantha Wolfe and her husband, Corey, Nevada, James Hartman, Jr., Nevada, and Anthony Hartman, Bronaugh; four grandchildren; his mother, Norma Wishon, Bronaugh; one sister, Leona Scott, Bronaugh; one brother, Mike Wishon, Nevada; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, James W. Hartman; and one brother, Shane Hartman.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 3, at Ferry Funeral Home in Nevada. The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home.
