County VB wrap-up

A pair of county volleyball teams were in action, with the Bronaugh Lady Wildcats falling at home to Miami on Thursday, while the Hume Lady Hornets defeated Miami on Tuesday for its first victory of the season.

In Thursday’s Golden Valley Vernon County Conference clash, Bronaugh dominated visiting Miami in the first set, taking game one 25-6. Miami edged the Lady Wildcats in the second set, 25-23. Bronaugh (1-3 overall, 1-1 GVVC) was then unable to recover, dropping the third and decisive set 25-19. Additionally, the Lady ’Cats junior varsity team fell to Miami in a one-set match, 25-13.

“We started out fine, and then after losing, we played the second game very tight,” said Lady Wildcats head coach Daryl Dodson. “If we will learn from this it will help us later in the year.”
