Peggy Rose Kuhlman

Peggy Rose Kuhlman, 85, of Moundville, passed away Saturday, Nov. 25, at her home. Peggy was born Dec. 15, 1931, to George W. and Golda (Scifers) Starr in Bates County, Mo., and grew up in numerous locations in the area. Peggy graduated from Nevada High School with the Class of 1950. She married George F. Kuhlman on July 8, 1950, and he preceded her in death on Nov. 21, 2017.

Peggy lived all of her adult life in rural Moundville. She lived her life taking care of her family and helping George on the farm. She loved to garden and raise flowers. Peggy was a wonderful cook and everyone looked forward to her meals. She was a member of the Moundville Methodist Church and was very active in church teaching Sunday School and Bible School.

Peggy is survived by one daughter, Debbie Wintjen and her husband Tim, of Moundville; four grandchildren, Corey Wintjen, of Moundville, Andrea (Mogan) Miller and her husband Sim, of Nevada, Brittany (Wintjen) Haynes and her husband Chris, of Moundville, and Ryan Wooldridge and his wife Cathie, of Nevada; ten great-grandchildren, Chevy Wintjen, Paxton and Easton Wooldridge, Trinity, Brady and Corbin Haynes, Ivie, Neveah, Rilynn and Logan Miller; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, Peggy was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Theda Fraley; two brothers, Ed Starr and Don Starr; one daughter, Connie J. Wooldridge; and one great-grandson, Chase Wintjen.

Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. today, in the Ferry Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in Moore Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until service time.
