Lady Tigers dominate competition en route to Harrisonville JV tournament crown

A perfect start to the season continued on Wednesday for the Lady Tiger junior varsity basketball team, as Nevada capped an impressive three-game run at the Harrisonville JV tournament with an emphatic 50-26 victory over Butler in the championship game.

Nevada (4-0) outscored its three opponents in Harrisonville, 137-47.

“The girls played very well at this tournament,” said Lady Tigers coach, Blake Howarth. “I’m proud of the effort and energy they brought for three straight nights, and looking forward to the remainder of the season.”

For the Lady Tigers, Alison Bower concluded against Butler with a game-high 16 points, which included three 3-pointers. Bower averaged 14.5 points per game for the tourney. Fellow Lady Tiger freshman guard, Kaylee Duncan, added 12 points.
