Sandra Kay Breeding Gean

Tuesday, December 5, 2017

On Dec. 2 Sandra Kay Breeding Gean went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Sandra was born May 9, 1941, in Nevada, to David Loren “Bing” Breeding and Katherine Lucille Mitts Breeding. She was their only child. Sandra lived her entire life in Nevada. She graduated from Nevada High School in 1959 and was in the first graduating class from the “new” Nevada Senior School after the old high school burned.

Sandra met the love of her life, Leroy Gean, later that year and they were married June 5, 1960. They were a match made in Heaven. Sandra was the rock of her family. Sandra was a wonderful and amazing wife, mother, granny and great-nana. For many years she was a babysitter to some wonderful kids.

She worked at Nevada City Hospital and retired from there to take care of her husband. She nursed him back to health from back surgery, quadruple bypass and two heart transplants. She never complained — that was her job. Family was the most important thing in her life. She was totally devoted to every member of her family.

She was the proudest of her granddaughter, Katherine Lauren Garrett. She loved her and was so proud of the woman and mother she had become. They were alike in so many ways. In later years the bond they shared was so strong.

The little loves of her life that she loved more than life itself were her three great-granddaughters. She was very proud of those girls.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband and her very special coffee drinking buddy, Louise Farmer.

Survivors include one daughter, Kimberly Kay Gean, one granddaughter, Katherine Lauren Garrett, one grandson Drew Garrett, three great-granddaughters, Aaliyah Paige Gean Meredith, Kimberly Kay Gean Meredith and Mya Faith Gean Garrett.

Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m., today, at Newton Burial Park in Nevada with Ronnie Smith officiating. The family received friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Monday at Ferry Funeral Home in Nevada.

Memorials may be made in her memory to American Diabetes Association in care of Ferry Funeral Home.
