Lady Tigers return to pool for Winnetonka Invitational, place 11th

After a pair of top three finishes to open the season, the Nevada Lady Tigers returned to the pool Saturday, placing 11th at the ultra-competitive 25-team Winnetonka Invitational at Gladstone Community Center in north Kansas City, Mo.

Lady Tiger top 16 finishes, included:

• 400-yard freestyle relay team — Janna Scotten, Amara Pippin, Hallie Short, and Makayla Haner placing 8th with a time of 4:33.97.

• 200 medley relay team — Makayla Haner, Peyton Claypool, Maggie Leisure, and Anna Fulton placing 10th with a time of 2:11.63.

• Peyton Claypool, 100-yard breaststroke, 11th-place, 1:20.83.

• 200 Free relay — Janna Scotten, Peyton Claypool, Makana Wilde, and Anna Fulton, 12th-place with a time of 2:01.99.

• Makayla Haner, 100 backstroke, 13th, 1:09.12.

• Makayla Haner , 200 individual medley, 16th, 2:39.11.

“There were 25 schools that attended so you are lucky to place in the top third of your heats,” said Nevada swim coach Samantha Short.
