Herman Klotz Jr., age 83, passed away on Saturday, Jan. 13, following a brief illness. Herman was born Dec. 20, 1934, in Gorham, Kan., to Herman and Betty Klotz. He was married to Betty Jo May on Dec. 23, 1965, and she preceded him in death on May 12, 2006.

Herman served in the Missouri National Guard and in the United States Army for two years while stationed in Germany. Throughout his life he worked as a farmer and also worked as a security guard for 25 years at 3M in Nevada until his retirement. Herman was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Hays, Kan.

Survivors include three brothers and five sisters: Morris and Betty Klotz, Marvin and Linda Klotz, Albert and Mary Klotz, Fern and Don Dolezal, Shirley Vincent, Joyce Gundy, Marjorie and Walter Johnson, and Anna Lee Bloesser; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services are scheduled for 1:30 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 19, at Ferry Funeral Home in Nevada with Lawrence Cripps officiating. A private committal with military honors will follow in Moore Cemetery, Nevada. Friends may call now and until the hour of service at Ferry Funeral Home.
