Lady Wildcats beat Marmaton Valley, 34-26

In Friday night prep hoops action, the Bronaugh Lady Wildcats defeated Marmaton Valley, 34-26, in Moran, Kansas. The non-conference win, coupled with the Lady ’Cats 35-20 GVVC victory on Tuesday over visiting Ballard — improves Bronaugh to 9-13 overall, and 3-3 in GVVC-play.

Bronaugh forward Paige Wait paced the Lady ’Cats on Friday against Marmaton, finishing with a team-high nine points and seven rebounds, while junior point guard Mattie Earnest chipped in eight points and five steals. Bronaugh concluded the contest 16-of-50 from the field (32 percent), while outrebounding Marmaton Valley, 24-15.

The Bronaugh boys were beat by Maramton Valley 60-20 on Friday, and then followed Tuesday with a 60-28 loss to Ballard. For Bronaugh (2-19, 1-5 GVVC), guards Kyle Harrell and John Million chipped in five points apiece. The Wildcats, however, connected on just 7-of-28 shots from the field (25 percent).
