Carole Ann Yoos, 74, of rural Bronaugh, died at 10:40 a.m., Saturday, March 10, at Medicalodge, of Fort Scott.

Mrs. Yoos was born March 27, 1943, in Clarksville, Tenn., the daughter of Orville and Emma Davidson Schilling. Carole was a homemaker and office clerk at Newman Young Clinic for 28 years. She also helped her husband, Bill, with farm chores and was his gate opener. They wintered in the Rio Grande Valley in South Texas. She was raised in Fort Scott and graduated from Fort Scott High School. She married William “Bill” Yoos on Dec. 28, 1985, in Bronaugh. She was a member of the Daughters of the Nile in Pittsburg, Kan.

Survivors include her husband, Bill, of the home; a son, Fred (Diana) Stoughton, of Fort Scott; two step-daughters, Brenda (Bob) Magnusson, of Bella Vista, Ark., and Kim (Stan) Schneider, of Gentry, Ark.; three step-sons, William (Rose) Yoos, of Centerton, Ark., Steven Yoos, of Costa Mesa, Calif., and Kenneth Yoos, of Joplin; one brother, Dale (Donna) Schilling, of Fort Scott; 12 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren; and her beloved dog, Skoch. She was preceded in death by her parents and one grandchild.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m., Wednesday, March 14, at the Bedene Funeral Home, in Arma, Kan., with the Rev. Bob Dickey officiating. Burial will be at the McKill Cemetery in rural Bronaugh. The family will receive friends from 10-11 a.m., Wednesday, at the Bedene Chapel prior to the services. Friends may call from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. today at the Bedene Chapel. The family suggests memorials to Mercy Hospice or the Mirza Shrine Temple. Donations may be sent to or left at the Bedene Funeral Home, 517 E. Washington, Box 621, Arma, KS 66712.
