Mary Jo Ann Trude, 85, passed away on Monday, May 21, at her home in Sheldon. Jo Ann is survived by her son, Terry Trude; and her daughters, Brenda Borders, Debra Trude-Suter, Donna Payne and Becky Rider. She was also blessed with grandchildren, Robby Payne, Rendi Cox, Patrick Leavell, Larry Borders Jr., Rachel Doty and Rebecca Border; and great-grandchildren, Kaylee Cox, Alyssa Cox, JayCee Cox, Shari Jo Borders, Jayme Borders and Blair Doty.

Jo Ann was born in Harwood on July 14, 1932. She attended Schell City High School and graduated in 1950. She was the pride and joy of her family who has now gone before her including her loving husband, Robert Trude; mother, Ruby Brown; sister, Marlyene Carl; brother, J.E. Brown. Jo Ann brought joy and love to all who knew her and was always known for her smile and a laugh that was bigger than life.

Jo Ann worked in Dietary at the Nevada City Hospital before retiring in 1994. She spent her time traveling between all of her family members in Houston, Kansas City and Chicago, it was the fondest times of her life. She loved seeing new things and meeting new people.

As Jo Ann aged and her health began to fail, Donna, her daughter, moved her family to Sheldon to care for her. She wanted nothing more than to pass away at home surrounded by her children and God granted her this one last thing on her list.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, May 24, at Ferry Funeral Home in Nevada. She will be interred in the Sheldon Cemetery next to her beloved husband. Friends may call now and until the hour of service at Ferry Funeral Home.
